This picture was taken from my apartment lawn which overlooked Downtown Asheville. The sun, and downtown, are to your right. It was late afternoon and the "sun dog" effect, which usually shows up with Cirrostratus or Altostratus clouds, happened to linger for a moment on this small cirrus feature. The timeframe was summer 1994 or 1995.
