This picture was taken from Long Beach, NC. I was there on vacation and saw this huge plume of smoke assumably eminating from a large forest fire considerably inland. It had reached condensation level to form a cumulus cloud. The date of this picture is unknown. It is almost certainly either June or August (my vacation months), during the early 1990's.
