MEMBER BENEFITS: WeatherMatrix Email List

The WeatherMatrix List Email List is a Private list available exclusively to WeatherMatrix Members. It is a General Weather Discussion list for weather-related topics such as those shown below. Use it to contact hundreds of other weather enthusiasts for opinions or discussions. Just about anything goes, except Current Weather Discussions which are restricted to the StormReports list.

The WeatherMatrix List sometimes goes a few days with no postings, but it could generate more than 10 a day if there is a hot topic. You should be prepared to handle that many emails. Most of the popular email programs have email filters which you can use to keep us out of your Inbox if you so desire. "Digest" support, where you would be sent a summary of 1 day's worth of postings, is now supported. You can subscribe and unsubscribe at will; see the Members Only section for more information on that.

A. CURRENT WEATHER / STORM REPORTS & DISCUSSIONS
All posts regarding current weather situations, recent storm or chase
reports, and the like, have been disallowed on the WeatherMatrix List since June
6, 1999 and this will continue.  WeatherMatrix greatly appreciates these types of
reports, however, and we have created a WeatherMatrix-sponsored Moderated list

B. FORECASTS
Everybody likes to argue about the weather.  Especially forecasting the
weather.  Which computer model is right?  What will it do next week?  If

D. BINARY ATTACHMENTS / PICTURES
If you have binary attachments or pictures to send to the group, please
send them to me first if you do not have a website or upload area.  I
will upload them to the WeatherMatrix server and tell you a temporary URL by
which Members can see them.  Due to the potential size of attachments,
they cannot be posted to the WeatherMatrix List.  One weather group DOES allow
posting of Weather-Related pictures, and I would encourage you to join

D. NON-WEATHER RELATED INFORMATION.
In order to keep the list focused, I must request that completely
unrelated posts be kept off of the WeatherMatrix List.  If you can relate it to
weather, I can post it.  Theoretically this should include ASTRONOMY and
EARTHQUAKES, since neither are related to weather, but I am still
Undecide on that and will deal with it on a case-by-case basis.  Groups
