Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings from the wind tunnel of the mid Atlantic. I
finished placing my more than two thousand feet of Christmas lights up on the
outside of my homestead in the hills. That means only one thing, time for the
winds from hell to visit. At 9:24 AM the wind gusted out of the SSE at 66
mph. That is the fifth day so far in November that the wind gusted to 50+ mph
which ties the record for the most times in any one month which was set on
several occasions. It also ties the monthly high gust for the month of November set
on November 19, 2003. Several trees are down in the area along with scattered
power outages. I lost a three foot lighted bell which was ripped from the
house along with the four two inch screws holding it in. I have already lost 45
feet of Christmas lights and they haven't been up a week yet. Here is a recap of
my monthly and yearly wind totals. Until later.....................
