        World Weather Summary

Late Thursday morning, EDT, Tropical Storm Nalgae is over the
western North Pacific Ocean about 815 miles northwest of Wake Island.
With highest sustained winds of 60 mph, Nalgae is moving northwestward
at 13 mph. Nalgae is forecast to very slowly weaken during the next
2-3 days on an open-water heading towards north-northwest.

A new tropical depression is plying the southeastern Philippine
Sea. As of late Thursday morning, EDT, the depression is centered
about 355 miles north-northwest of Yap Island where it holds top
sustained winds near 30 mph; it is nearly stationary. The cyclone is
forecast to strengthen steadily and meaningfully during the next 2-3
days while taking on a general northward motion.

Parts of Morocco dealt with unusually hot weather this midweek. At
Agadir, which is often moderated by breezes from the Atlantic Ocean,
Wednesday's high temperature was 118 degrees. Tuesday reached 107
degrees and Thursday rose to at least 108. For perspective, the mean
daily high during July is 85 degrees.

In Mumbai (Bombay), India, 4.8 inches of rain fell within 33 hours
ended late Thursday, local time.

Torrential rain pounded Lu Shan in eastern China from early
Tuesday through late Thursday, local time. Rainfall was 11.7 inches
during this time.

Rainfall linked to Hurricane Emily was about 6.1 inches in
Monterrey, Mexico, as of Thursday morning.
