[STORMREPORTS] NJ Heat
So far during this "heat wave", we have not seen temperatures as high as central Pennsylvania in NJ because of the location of the Bermuda High. Today will be an exception as the high is drifting away.
I have officially set my record high low temperature for the month of June at my location in Mercerville, NJ (near Trenton). The temp. never dipped below 76.6 overnight and early this morning. The dew point is up to 75.
Today will be oppressive here. Most NJ schools have either closed for the day, or announced early dismissals. It seems my school taxes keep going up, but ~90% of our schools do not have air-conditioning.
Highs are expected to approach the upper 90's (possibly a 100 in a few locations). Combined with the dew point, we should easily see 110 heat indices, and possibly even a 115 or so. And on Friday we might be in the upper 60's!
I only have records at my location for the last 5 years and the record I reported reflects only that short window of records.
Stay cool.
Eric
