High heat overspread portions of western Europe Friday. Paris,
France's Charles de Gaulle airport had an afternoon high temperature
of 90 degrees. This was well above the normal high for this time of
the year, which is 69 degrees. London, England's Heathrow airport was
also quite warm, with an afternoon high temperature of 87 degrees.
The normal high at Heathrow is 64 degrees. The heat was short lasted
as high temperatures were about 20 degrees cooler in most places on
Saturday.

Rain drenched portions of China Friday. Kang-Ch'a, located in the
north-central portion of the country, received 0.85 of an inch of
rainfall from a thunderstorm, most of which fell in under 3 hours. In
southeastern portions of China, the town of Yung-An received 0.95 of
an inch of rainfall, most of which fell in the afternoon.

An afternoon thunderstorm brought heavy rainfall to the city of
Thessaloniki, Greece Saturday. 1.02 inches of rain fall, most of which
occurred in a matter of three hours.

Heavy rain soaked portions of Kenya Saturday. In the town of Meru
in central Kenya, afternoon rain brought 0.94 inches of rainfall.

Winds near Botev Vrah, Bulgaria peaked at 78 knots Saturday
night.

A thunderstorm over Bogota, Columbia dropped nearly 5.00 inches
of rain in just 4 hours late Saturday morning.
