[STORMREPORTS] Brilliant Halo Phenomena in Pennsylvania

We just saw a long and brilliant "rainbow" in the skies over State College,
PA. I believe it was a circumzenithal arc. This type of formation is
rarely seen, and this one was very bright and longer than the example photo
below. As I understand it, basically light enters ice crystals in a cirrus
cloud, through one side, and exits the other, creating a prism
effect. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me and the good webcam
at home is down for maintenance.

Last summer I saw what I believe to be a Circumhorizontal Arc in North
Carolina (see middle of http://www.weathermatrix.net/2004/alex/ ) Other
than these two occurrences, I don't remember seeing much besides "sun dogs"
(http://www.creations-photos.com/sundogs.html) in recent years.
