A tropical depression has brought very heavy rainfall to the
northwest coast of western Australia. Barrow Island, which lies just
offshore, picked up over 4 inches in a 30 hour period ending Friday.
This is 5 times the average rainfall for the month of April.
Bangkok, Thailand has been very hot over the past few months and
Saturday was no exception. The mercury soared to near 100 degrees.
But, dew points measured a scorching 84 degrees. This makes the 100
degree temperature feel like 127 degrees, and thats in the shade!
High winds buffeted the United Kingdom's tiny North Rona Island
off northwestern Scotland Thursday and Friday. Sustained winds
generally blew 30-55 mph from midday Thursday to early Friday
afternoon, local time. At their highest, however, sustained winds
above 60 mph were clocked.
Very warm weather will continue across France and southwestern
Europe. On Friday temperatures soared to 86 degrees in Orange. The
average high for the date is only 63 degrees. The high temperature in
Madrid, Spain also topped out at 86 degrees, well above the average
high of 67.
