A spring warm spell has developed over western Siberia in recent
days. Omsk, topped 75 degrees Saturday afternoon and has averaged
nearly 20 degrees above normal for the past 4 days. The normal high
this time of the year is only 47. Sunday, Irtyshsk topped out at
76 degrees. This warm weather will continue early in the week, then a
strong cold frontal passage Tuesday will drop temperatures to a few
degrees cooler than normal.
Numerous thunderstorms have effected northern portions of South
America over the past couple of days. Guanare, is the western portion
of the Venezuela, recorded the highest rainfall in the period with 3.4
inches of rain. This is more then the average April total of 3.0
inches.
