The Pennine areas of England were hit by the plume of cloud which came across the North Sea out of the continent. Gathering moisture from its trip across the North Sea it deposited 6" of snow in the Sheffield Area. The road out of Yorkshire the A57 Snake Pass and the A628 Woodhead Pass leading into Lancashire are both blocked by snow the wind is in the North and we have had a 17 mph gust this morning and its still snowing with overcast condition low visibility and Stratus Cloud.
