Tropical Cyclone Olaf is now weakening steadily over the open
South Pacific Ocean. Heading southwards, this storm will loose
cyclone status over open seas within the next two days.

Early Saturday, West Greenland was as warm as on many a summer`s
day. Frederikshab reached at least 60 degrees, far above the average
monthly high of 23. Narssarssuaq registered at least 57 degrees.
Godthab (Nuuk) was raked by 70-mph gusts as the temperature reached
57 degrees, or 38 degrees above average for February.

Heavy, wet snow blanketed the Vale of Kashmir Saturday. Water
equivalent from the snow reached 2 inches at the city of Srinagar,
where snow depth was likely a foot or more.

As of Saturday, rainfall since Tuesday has been 15.4 inches at
Saint Denis, Reunion.

The mid continent of South America sweltered Friday. Las Lomitas,
Argentina, hit 106 degrees. Paraguay was at least as hot at Mariscal
Estigarribia whereas Prats-Gil had a high of 104 degrees. Highs above
100 were also set in southern Bolivia and western Brasil.

A heat wave has gripped mainland Southeast Asia, but for Vietnam,
for most of this month. This week, heat has intensified with highs
above the 100-degree mark being set Friday and Saturday in much of
Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), and stretches of Laos and perhaps
Cambodia. Saturday, Bangkok topped out at 100 degrees, or 9 degrees
above average for the date.

Rainfall was 4.1 inches within 48 hours as of early Saturday
morning, local time, at Majuro, one of the Marshall Islands in the
western North Pacific Ocean. This dousing equates to more than 60% of
February's mean rainfall here which is near 6.5 inches.
