[STORMREPORTS] Extreme Cold

This report is very late getting out as I had somehow excluded myself from
this list a while back. Anyway, the included link of an image taken during
it is still worth sharing. Just prior to Christmas and then continuing for a
number of days there after, eastern Ontario experienced extreme cold
temperatures in the -35ºC range, one night hitting -41ºC with a wind chill
of -47ºC.

On December 23rd, I captured what I feel is one of the best images of sun
dogs I have ever seen (note the personal horn blowing...) and I would like
to share it with everyone. As usual, all of my images are available for
re-production, so long as I am aware of it and given credit and a link, on
non-profit and non-commercial sites.

Shortly after this image was taken, we went through a
thaw/freeze/thaw/freeze cycle with highs reaching +12ºC and lows
hitting -30ºC or colder within 24 - 48 hour periods. Most recently we have
been getting daytime highs in the -20ºC range and lows of -35ºC but as of
today, the thaw cycle has returned once again.

Yesterday our barometric pressure capped out at 104.4kp midday as the
temperatures started to rise. With that said and done, does anyone know what
the highest recorded pressure has been and where it was recorded?

The image of the sun dogs can be seen at
