Winchester VA
Saturday began with sunshine & a mild temperature of 36º. The air was
very dry with the low outside humidity of 31%. Clouds moved in about
3pm. Virga began falling about 5pm.
Light snow began about 6pm. About a quarter inch fell, before it changed
to sleet about 7pm. Light to moderate sleet fell at times through the
night. A touch of freezing rain fell before midnight. By 1am, I measured
1/2" of sleet. At 4am, It changed back to all snow.
Overnight temperatures fell to 27. The wind were southeast Saturday
became NNE about 3am today.
When I got up just before noon, the last flurries were falling. I
measured 1" of snow on top of 3/4" of sleet.
The sun has come out now, & the temperature has rebounded into the mid
30s. What is left tonight will refreeze tonight.
I was going to wait to do the driveway later in the afternoon, after
most of the snow melted :) .
I just found out that a neighbor has blew out the ice & snow.
I'll do the walking path from the backyard to the top Monday
afternoon... if there's any left.
Temperatures will be in the freeze thaw pattern this week, with highs in
the 40s, low in the 20s. No other precip is forecast.
