Thanks for pointing this out. Here is a media reference:

http://www.thecarolinachannel.com/weather/4123421/detail.html
"HENDERSONVILLE -- There's breezy, there's windy, and then there's the wind
gust measured on one North Carolina mountain Sunday. Instruments on
5,300-foot Grandfather Mountain recorded a wind gust of 152 mph on Sunday.
That's 3 mph short of the winds found at the center of a Category 5
hurricane. In Henderson County, about 7,200 Duke Power customers lost
service Sunday after winds up to 30 mph downed trees and brought down power
lines." END QUOTE

It's interesting, this must have been measured by their classic instruments
as opposed to their "WeatherBug" instrumentation, according to a public
archive, the highest gust the AWS instruments reached was 61 mph at the
Nature Center and
1 mph (betting something is wrong with that instrumentation) at the Summit.
