"Strong winds will continue across Melbourne and central Victoria after a
night of wild weather. The weather bureau says winds gusted up to 75
kilometres an hour across Melbourne last night with rain bursts.
"We've had a fairly sustained period of strong winds over 24 hours and
frequent shower activity, so I assume, certainly with the wind gusts
yesterday of 100 kilometres an hour, we would have seen some branches down
and trees down in the Melbourne area," he said."
