Arctic air came screaming into Florida just after midnight this Monday
morning 12/20/04, with the subfreezing line dipped down to around
Gainesville line.
The cold spot in the state was 23 deg. at Jay in the panhandle NW region.
Lake City was right behind at 24 deg. The cold spot on the central peninsula
was 33 deg. at Brooksville, East Nobleton, Holder and Umatilla. Mount
Plymouth was right behind with 34 deg. The cold spot on the southern
peninsula was 42 deg. at Immokalee.
Here in Plant City 25 miles east of Tampa I observed a minimum temperature
of 36 deg., with a wind chill temperature of 25 deg. and a dewpoint
temperature of 16 deg.
