The big storm marching across the Ohio valley today has shown itself with
extremely low pressures. The low so far was at 21Z today reported by
Bloomington Indiana which reported 987 mb or 29.15" Hg. For comparison,
Category 2 hurricanes are said to have a minimum pressure of 980 mb or lower.
Overall the pressure in the U.S. has fallen from 1030mb average on November
16 to an average of 1013mb tonight. The last time pressures lower than
this were recorded in the U.S. were in Michigan on October 17th and before
that in Maine on October 5th.
