This follows a busy night on Sunday for the Fire Service which had up to 30
weather-related callouts in an hour and a half after a thunderstorm hit the
upper North Island. The Fire Service says the worst hit areas were Ngatea
in Waikato and East Coast Bays in Auckland. The callouts were mostly due to
house flooding and trees crashing down. The service says Auckland City
Hospital was also affected, with flooding in its emergency department and
