It's 6:57 PM EDT as I write this and here in Trenton, NJ (Hamilton Township
to be exact), we have just finished 14 minutes of pounding hail. The hail
ranged from 1/8" to 3/8" in size and has accumulated to about 1" on the
ground. Cars driving by the house are leaving slush grooves in the
road. Considering that the temperature dropped suddenly from 53 to 43
degrees during this storm, it is also entirely possible that it was sleet
and not hail. Wind gusts at my location were up to 47 MPH with a 3-minute
sustained wind of 29 MPH during the storm.

It is extremely unusual for a storm like this to make it as far east as my
area. My son was crying at the sound of the sleet/hail pelting the west
side windows. He doesn't even normally cry for storms any more, even with
violent lightning and thunder. I am extremely happy the cars are in the
garage!!!
