It comes as little surprise that after the tropical weather onslaught of Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, we have broken the record for the
most rainfall in a single month at the Asheville airport. As of midnight last night (not counting Tuesday morning's rainfall), the
September rainfall total was 13.12 inches, breaking the old record of 11.28 inches set in August 1967.
