I just got home from a tour of my Walden Lake Golf & Country Club subdivision here in SW Plant CIty, FL. The amount of damage to roofs of houses and other structures, chain link and wood fences and trees is surprising and stunning!!!
I saw many perfectly healthy large oak trees uprooted and many healthy large and tall pine trees snapped 1/3 to 1/2 way up above the ground. The main north/south route of "Timberlane Parkway" is blocked by many trees so the name is now fitting.
Soon I will begin creating a new Hurricane Jeanne damage web page at http://www.kn4lf.com/jeanne.htm much like my Frances page at http://www.kn4lf.com/frances.htm and will display damage photo's there.
For my amateur radio operator friends, all of my antennas and antenna supports are destroyed AGAIN and all of my trees are either destroyed or heavily damaged so I'm off of the air for a long time. I would have to put up a tower in my back yard to raise an antenna and it's not allowed due to CC & R's. I will have to buy some land in the country and build a new house to get back on the air. Our mutual friend Ed Wilson K4UCQ in Balm, FL lost all three of his 100 foot towers and trees so is also off the air indefinitely.
