[STORMREPORTS] CAT 2 Jeanne Observations
I'm typing this email on emergency backup power on my computer and amateur radio station, with only 4 hours of sleep since Saturday morning. Jeanne still has a visible eyewall as she "CONTINUES" to move slightly north of west at approximately 12 mph. On radar she seems to be on a westerly heading of 275 deg. At 6:00 am the center is now over northern Highlands County and as of 5:00 am EDT the NHC/TPC has now altered the future forecast track of Jeanne to match mine.
At 6:10 am EDT here in Plant City 25 miles east of Tampa I'm seeing winds of 45 mph gusting to 48 mph from the north and a falling barometer of 29.18" with heavy rainfall. The highest inland wind gust that I could find in the past hour is 99 mph in Sebring near the center of Jeanne.
Once again I think that interior and west central areas of the peninsula are going to see hurricane force winds, including the Tampa Bay area, as the remnants of Jeanne's eyewall passes across Polk, Hillsborough and Pinellas and Pasco County's.
Take Care,
SWFWMD Rainfall Observer #574
