fall air dotted the nation with record lows. These days fall into the
busiest Record Report days on record (since 3/1/03).

You may have noticed that we have not issued the NWS Record Reports reports
since late July. In an attempt to cut down manual labor time here at
WeatherMatrix, the reports have been changed. You will now receive a daily
summary which will state only the approximate number of:
Total Record Reports Issued
Number of Record Lows Extracted
Number of Record Highs Extracted
Number of Rainfall Records Extracted
Number of Snowfall Records Extracted
Number of Corrections Issued
Number of Records Refuted
And any commentary on the particular weather situation which caused the
records. Individual reports will not be included, but will still be
available from our monthly archive at:
http://www.weathermatrix.net/archive/usrecords/date.html
Numbers stated will be approximate due to random NWS formatting, random
retransmission, corrections, and data delivery formats. The total may not
equal the parts due to multiple locations in one record report or improper
formatting which causes records to not be extracted.

I have also updated our Weather Records webpage at:

to include this information, and refreshed the table of "RECORD Record
