Typhoon Rananim is now decaying over east-central China. As the
storm neared the coast of China Thursday, a small island,
Ta-chen-tao, just off the coast had sustained winds of 80 mph and
rainfall over a 24 hour period was 7.09 inches. Rananim brought very
heavy rainfall across the province of Zhejiang as it moved inland.
Lishui had 6.28 inches of rain, while the nearby city of Linhai had
a total of 14.41 inches in a little over 36 hours time.

The remains of Tropical Storm Bonnie are helping to bring plenty
of rainfall to postal portions of Canada, especially in the New
Brunswick providence. Friday saw 2.57 inches of rain as the storm
moved northward into the northern Atlantic. Most of this occurred late
in the day Friday over coastal portions of New Brunswick.

The heat continues for Wando Island, Korea as temperatures on
Saturday again climbed to above normal for the third day in a row as
temperatures climbed to 97 degrees on Saturday, well above the
average high of 81 for the week.

A storm that brought severe weather to parts of France and Germany
continued to move southward on Friday with heavy rainfall into
northern Italy and Hungary. In Leba, Poland, 1.67 inches of rain fell
during the day with most of that occuring during the afternoon when
over 1 inch of rain fell in 6 hours. In Bialystok, Poland, 1.38
inches of rain fell in a 6 hour period with temperatures quickly
dropping during the rainstorm.

A Tropical Depression formed in the western Pacific early Saturday
morning, EDT. Tropical Depression 18W was 345 miles northwest of Guam
and moving west-northwest at 16 mph. The storm had winds sustained at
30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. The storm is expected to continue to the
northwest over the next several days and strengthen to near
Typhoon-force before approaching the southern Japanese islands.
