Although a microburst is mentioned below, I could not find any storm
reports or survey information from the NWS on this storm.

"DEVENS -- Lightning strikes and high winds from last Thursday night's
severe thunderstorm that tore through the area between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
struck Devens hardest, knocking out power, flooding basements and washing
away the sides of roads under construction.
Power was also cut to sections of Pepperell and Townsend.
Lightning blew out the Mass Electric substation on West Main Street across
from the Verbeck Gate, which cut power particularly to the Jackson Road,
MacArthur Avenue, Barnum Road and Elm Street area, according to Devens Fire
Chief Thomas Garrity
"We were out until 2 a.m.," Garrity said. "A microburst took down numerous
trees, caused some flooding in cellars, washed away the sides of roads
under construction and the wooden sign on Buena Vista is history."
According to Devens Firefighter Jim Straitiff, the wind blew so hard at one
point that the fire truck was almost halted on its way to a box alarm that
went off due to a lightning strike in the Shirley Housing area. Lightning
also hit the D&S Warehouse."
