"THE BROAD LOW PRESSURE AREA OVER THE CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO REMAINS
POORLY ORGANIZED THIS MORNING...WITH A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE
EXTENDING NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA AND
MISSISSIPPI. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS DISORGANIZED...AND THE
RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT SCHEDULED FOR THIS MORNING HAS BEEN
CANCELLED. ALTHOUGH CONDITIONS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL
CYCLONE DEVELOPMENT...ANOTHER AIRCRAFT IS AVAILABLE TO INVESTIGATE
THE SYSTEM THIS AFTERNOON...IF NECESSARY. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR
NOT A TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMS...A LARGE AREA OF RAINFALL ACCOMPANIES

"A tropical disturbance will slowly move north, impacting southern portions
of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Many locations will receive 2 to 4
inches of rain with locally higher amounts. Rain is expected to be heaviest
late Monday afternoon and evening as daytime heating enhances convection.
This storm will continue to affect the Southeast through the middle of the
week."
