"TBILISI, May 29 (Itar-Tass) - Flooding has cut all links between more than
half of all the villages located in the highlands of the Lentekhsi region
of Georgia and the outside world, Georgian parliament member Gogi
Leparteliani said on Saturday.
The MP, who was speaking live on Rustavi-2 television, said the torrential
rains that have been falling for four days in succession made the local
mountain rivers overflow and set off landslides that have destroyed dozens
of houses, badly damaged motor and pedestrian bridges and power trasmission
lines."
