This media story claims 250 kmh winds, which would convert to 155 mph.

"A fragile historic hut used by Scott and Shackleton in Antarctica has been
damaged and two others could have been destroyed by the ferocious storm
which lashed Scott Base last week.

The damage to Discovery Hut was only found when workers at the New Zealand
base and the neighbouring American McMurdo Station completed urgent repair
work to their own bases after the 250kmh blizzard.

Scott Base suffered damage to a storage shed, which lost part of its roof
and had a door blown in, but details have emerged of far greater damage
sustained by McMurdo Station in the storm.

A 20-tonne roof of a fuel tank at the base was blown off in the blast,
landing 10m from another fuel tank holding eight million litres of fuel.

Sheets of roofing and siding iron were ripped off several dormitories,
power lines were felled, and relocated buildings were flung around in the
blast."
