"A spring blizzard was expected to hit Newfoundland overnight Saturday, in
the midst of a major public sector strike that will keep most of the
province's snow plow drivers off the roads.

Forecasters were predicting between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow would
fall on the provincial capital and the Avalon Peninsula after midnight.

Winds were expected to gust up to 100 kilometres per hour."
