a tornado that caused damage to buildings and trees in Huron County over

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...BETWEEN 6 AND 7 AM...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
ROLLED THROUGH HURON COUNTY. SEVERE WEATHER WAS REPORTED FROM
SEBEWAING TO PORT HOPE. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INVESTIGATED
REPORTS OF A TORNADO FROM SOUTH OF ELKTON TO SOUTH OF BAD AXE.
ALL DAMAGE IN HURON COUNTY IS CONSISTENT WITH STRAIGHT LINE
THUNDERSTORM WINDS. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WAS FROM ABOUT 3
MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF ELKTON...TO JUST WEST AND SOUTH OF BAD AXE.
THIS DOWNBURST WAS ABOUT 3 MILES WIDE AT THE EAST END OF THE DAMAGE
AREA. THE DAMAGE IN THIS DOWNBURST AREA WAS ESTIMATED TO BE AROUND
70 MPH. DAMAGE CONSISTED OF DOZENS OF TREES AND LARGE LIMBS
DOWN...PLUS ABOUT SIX FARM BUILDINGS THAT WERE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED.
IN ADDITION...SEVERE WIND GUSTS OR TREE DAMAGE WERE REPORTED BY
SPOTTERS IN SEBEWAING...PIGEON...AND PORT HOPE. GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL
WAS REPORTED 2 MILES SOUTH OF ELKTON.
