Key Lake Saskatchewan dropped to -61.6 degrees F (-52 C) this morning at
4:09 am, eclipsing the old record of -60.7 (-51.5 C). Records there have
only been kept since the late 70's though. Surely it's been atleast a few
degrees colder than that. Saskatoon Saskatchewan hit a record daily low -49
F (-45 C) and also recorded windchills below -60 C (-76 F) most of the night
and early morning, and a few windchill values below -80 F (-62.2 C).
Southern and central Alberta were a bit warmer this morning, with Calgary
only dropping to -24.5 F (-31.4 C) and warming up throughout the early
morning.
