[STORMREPORTS] Tied wind record. Smithsburg, MD 2 NE

From: JimTheWeatherGuy{at}aol.com
Date: Sat Nov 29 2003 - 20:42:56 EST

Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings from the wind tunnel of the mid Atlantic.
At 11:49 AM the wind gusted out of the WNW at 52 mph. It was the fifth day this
month that the wind gusted 50+ mph. That ties are record for the most days
with 50+ mph winds for any month with April 2003. So far in 2003 there has been
28 days where the wind gusted to 50+ mph. That is double the old record of 14
days set in 2002. The previous record of 8 such days stood for 17 years. The
wind is still howling at 8:40 PM out of the WNW at 35 mph with gusts to 45.
That is just a gentle fall breeze compared to recent winds. Ugh! Until later.
 Jim
