A strong cold front swept across the peninsula in the past 18 hour period
bringing strong northerly winds and crashing temperatures and dewpoints. The
cold spot this morning was 32 deg. on the northern peninsula at Alachua.
Here in Plant City east of Tampa the minimum temperature was 38 deg. Upper
30's were common this morning in inland rural areas with low 40's in urban
areas, with wind chills in the mid 20's to mid 30's.
Here are some specific observations here in Plant City during the past 18
hours.
Max/Min Temp.- 83 down to 38 deg.
Max/Min Dew Point- 69 down to 21 deg.
Max/Min Barometric Pressure- 29.94 up to 30.30"
Max Wind Gust- N At 35 mph
Subfreezing temperatures are expected in inland rural areas north of I-4 on
Sunday morning.
