Here is my final report on the high wind event of November 12-14, 2003.
http://www.weathermatrix.net/2003/1113/
High winds knocked down large trees and powerlines, outing power for a
quarter of a million people in the Ohio Valley and Northeast between
November 12 and 14, 2003. A line of thunderstorms swept through the Ohio
Valley late on the 12th and a strong front and pressure gradient caused
high winds in the Northeast on the 13th and 14th. Many places saw their
first significant snowfall from this system. According to the Associated
Press, eight people were killed by this weather system.
