[ED. NOTE: More info is available at SpaceWeather.com]

What you saw was the auroras, being seen as far south as Texas and Florida
yesterday from the Sun Flare that raced past Earth. Another Sun Flare was
triggered which could unleash even more powerful geomagnetic storms, which
means we could see even more of this over the next 2 days possibly. Depends
on a lot, but last night here in Palmyra Pennsylvania, just east of Hershey I
saw very much the same thing, although not as well. Still a sight to see
this far south of Northern Lights!! I hoping to talk to my sister in Alaska
and see if they have pictures as well, supposedly it was an awesome sight
with the extended storm bearing down on earth!!

See http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/10/29/solar.storm/index.html for more
information on the new storm!

Subject: [STORMREPORTS] Weird Northern Lights

Hello again from Baiting Hollow.
At about 7:45pm I noticed that the entire sky was
a very odd crimson color, which seemed very weird when
filtered through the cirrus deck. The moon glowed a
strange green,a color like I've never seen
before...and I've seen it yellow, red, blueish,
orange, you name it, but not that kind of green.
