Ketsana is undergoing a swift transformation to a mid-latitude
storm far to the east of Japan. It is of no threat to land as a named
tropical storm.

Though more than 200 miles from the storm center, Iwo Jima was
hit by heavy thunderstorms and wind gusts to near 45 mph as Ketsana
passed by to the west on Friday night.

Typhoon Parma is over the middle North Pacific Ocean north of
Wake Island. Sunday morning, EST, Parma is about at 230 miles
north-northeast of Wake packing highest sustained winds of more than
90 mph. Parma, now heading towards the southwest at least 20 mph,
Parma is wheeling about a strong upper-atmospheric ridge. Parma is
forecast to head mostly towards the west for the next 48 to 60 hours,
and eventually, to close off a loop rimming the core of the strong
upper ridge.

A tropical depression is nearing the northern Andaman Islands of
India. Early Sunday morning, EST, this weak depression has highest
winds of less than 30 mph and is heading towards the west at 7 mph.
The depression is given some chance of becoming a tropical cyclone
over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Late-week downpours, wind-swept at that, have drenched the
southwest of Greenland. Narssarssuaq was pounded with 5 to 7 inches
of rain within 36 hours through early Sunday.

The northern reaches of the British Columbia coast have seen
heavy, wind-swept rains for the last 48-60 hours. At Prince Rupert,
rainfall was 5.1 inches.
