     Greetings from the ice box of Long Island. Last
night was not only the coldest night of the season, so
far, but it was the coldest October temperature in
over nine years. The temp dropped to 24.7º under
clear skies with no wind, the ground was covered with
a thick frost in the first good freeze of the season.
I've been looking forward to this for a while, to get
ride of all the knats around here. Its amazing to
think that the 25º temp occured four hours ago and its
51.4º and rapidly rising right now.
