A strong and fast moving front moved through the area last night. There was very little rain with this front but high winds gusting to 50 mph put the area in the dark from around midnight to this morning. The front moved through at 40 mph so it was not here long, I say around 10 mins at the most. My mother in Va. reported that there were about 3,000 people out of power around there as a result of the high wind.
