I thought this was worthy of pulling out of the daily record report...
although it's only October 15, Tri-Cities, Tennessee has broken their
all-time yearly rainfall record already!

RECORD EVENT REPORT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MORRISTOWN TN
530 PM EDT TUE OCT 14 2003

...WETTEST YEAR EVER AT THE TRI CITIES AIRPORT...

THROUGH 5 PM TODAY, 54.59 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION HAS BEEN RECORDED
THIS YEAR AT THE TRI CITIES AIRPORT. THIS BREAKS THE ALL TIME
PRECIPITATION YEARLY RECORD. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 54.50
INCHES IN 1950.

THE YEARLY AVERAGE TOTAL RAINFALL IS ONLY 41.30 INCHES. TRI CITIES HIT
THAT MARK BACK ON AUGUST 5. THE FIVE WETTEST YEARLY TOTALS ARE:

2003: 54.59 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION, WITH TWO AND A HALF MONTHS OF
THE YEAR REMAINING.
