[STORMREPORTS] Photos Of Isabel Approaching Port are Fake

I have received photos from several folks which claim to show Hurricane
Isabel approaching a port. They look like the following:

http://www.weatherarchive.net/2003/isabel/faked/isabel1.jpg
http://www.weatherarchive.net/2003/isabel/faked/isabel2.jpg

These photos are getting circulated around the Internet en masse but what
the senders and recipients do not know, is that they are fake. Not to say
that the photos have been doctored, but rather they are not photos of
Hurricane Isabel.

The photos are of supercell thunderstorm structures which would normally be
seen in the Midwest or Australia. They can be seen in other places and can
be seen next to water but are extremely rare, especially the structure
shown in the first photo.

Hurricanes simply do not support severe thunderstorms with the structure
that you see in the photos -- in fact, did you know... hurricanes rarely
have lightning (thunder) at all!
