Well, the remnants of Hurricane Isabel finally arrived here this morning as
a breezy start to the day. After the early morning clouds broke up we ended
up with a nice and sunny day with a high of 24.6 here in Franktown, Ontario,
just west of Ottawa. Having spent much of the day at the International
Plowing Match I wasn't privy to the goings on outside of my part of the
world but I see we have been lucky.
The main winds hit us near noon and steadily increased until 15:00 when the
clouds rolled in and a bit of rain began to fall. The winds began to
diminish then and now at 17:00 we have some rain falling but the winds have
died down to less than 20 km/hr. At the peak, winds were in the 30 - 40
km/hr range with gusts to 60 or 70km/hr.
Other than that, we were spared. The Toronto area I understand got hit worst
with winds and rain than we did and have experienced some power outages.
