Peak wind gusts 7 miles southeast of Trenton-Mercer Airport were 53 MPH at 10:07 PM last night. My station, in Hamilton, NJ, peaked out at 47 MPH from the NNE at about the same time.
Surprisingly little damage that I have seen. I just took a 30 mile trip north from my house to visit my parents. One road, along the Delaware and Raritan Canal in closed. A few street lights are out. But other than that, a lot of branches have fallen but were already cleared.
Reports of one fatality in Warren County, NJ. A tree fell on a car with five passengers killing one, and injuring the other four. All apparently from the same family.
Currently (1:46PM) we have a 29 MPH wind out of the south, with gusts near 40 MPH, sunny skies, and a 68 degree dew point with 83 degree temperature.
I really think we were all very lucky here in NJ.
Almost forgot...I had a TOTAL of 0.83" of rain from Isabel.
Eric
