Here are some of the peak wind gusts I have received from fellow spotters...
Adams County, 43 in York Springs, 37 in Gettysburg... Dauphin County, 30 at
Harrisburg Int'l. Airport, 38 at ABC27 TV... Lebanon County, 45 at Ft.
Indiantown Gap... Perry County, 50 at Newport... York County, 43 at Dillsburg. Here in
Cumberland County, Cap. City Airport in New Cumberland reported 30, Carlisle
42, Newville 46, and here in Silver Spring Township, just outside
Mechanicsburg, we had a gust of 40 and a total of 1.62" of rain. Both lower than
expected, but no one is complaining. We lost power for several hours overnight, lots
of trees and wires down everywhere. This mornings damage survey looks a lot
worse than it actually was- lots of limbs and branches and debris all over the
roads. No reports of flooding, and so far only one storm related fatality
reported, in Lancaster County when a car crashed into a fallen tree in the road.
