From: Jesse Ferrell (WeatherMatrix) 2 (jesse{at}weathermatrix.com)

Fox News is showing impressive live footage of Annapolis MD where waves
from the Chesapeake Bay are crashing through downtown -- much of the city
looks to be under 5 feet of water. FoxNews also reporting the number of
people without power at 4.5 million.

Here is some more from Washington Post:

"washingtonpost.com's Christina Pino-Marina reports from Old Town

"Rising waters from Isabel-spawned rains sent the Potomac River over its
banks in Alexandria this morning, flooded the Annapolis waterfront around
City Dock and forced the evacuation of thousands of residents in the
Washington region -- from areas as widespread as Fairfax County in Virginia
and Laurel and St. Mary's County in Maryland.

In Old Town Alexandria, the Potomac had overflowed and crept more than a
block up King Street by early morning, two hours before the river would be
at high tide there.

The river also spilled over the waterfront in Georgetown, where the
boardwalk around the Washington Harbor complex was covered by about three
feet of water, with the river crashing against the stone barriers of the
complex's restaurants.

In the St. Mary's County waterfront community of Tall Timbers, about 50
miles south of Washington, the Potomac surged inland more than 100 yards,
covering much of the area with three feet of brackish water. Waves broke on
the front doorsteps of upscale waterfront mansions. Wooden picnic tables
and decks floated down one street. Trees lay on their sides, uprooted by
winds exceeding 70 mph.

The National Weather Service said this morning that the storm surge
flooding in Alexandria and at parts of Reagan National Airport had "equaled
or exceeded" hurricane flooding in 1933.

The water on Main Street in Annapolis covered the City Dock parking lot,
and flowed past a liquor store and a hat store, until it finally stopped in
front of O'Brien's Oyster Bar and Restaurant."
