Some of the most intense storms of the season are racing southeast thru
the Baltimore & Washington regions at this time.

Widespread intense lightning, heavy rain rates, & winds gusting to 60mph
are common.

A spokesman for PEPCO told WJLA tv that 79,000 are without power at 5pm.

The Capital Beltway is closed in both directions in Greenbelt MD due
live wires energizing the guardrail.

I'll report more later, possibly tonight.
