Business was badly affected by the storm that tore
through the nation's eastern seaboard at the weekend,
killing a man in Sydney.
Winds up to 120km/h, caused more than $4 million in
damage and left more than 38,000 people without phone,
internet and in some cases mobile phone services,
affecting businesses in NSW and Victoria.
Telstra said 8000 customers in NSW and 4700 customers
in Victoria had been left without phone, fax and
internet services after lines were brought down by
wind or falling trees.
Optus said at least 10,000 of its customers had lost
services across NSW and Victoria.
