"A local microburst from an associated thunderstorm ripped tree limbs
across the Cypress Point subdivision in northeast Monroe Thursday, August
21. The damage was confined to a small area in the subdivision where
estimated winds reached between 50 and 55 mph shortly after 2:30 PM."
