I couldn't understand it! I was fly fishing along White Deer Creek about 45 minutes east of you, and my StrikeDetector® kept going off. It indicated strikes within a 6 mile radius. I couldn't figure out why. I had check KCCX Doppler radar before I left and the only storms were up in Erie county. I just put the alerts off as 'false' strikes. Little did I know that storms had formed while I was enroute to the stream. It wasn't until I check KCCX again when I got home, that I was extremely lucky not to be caught in a rumbler while some distance from my truck. From now on, when it beeps, I'll listen.

Subject: [STORMREPORTS] Thunderstorm in State College, Pennsylvania
A strong thunderstorm just whipped through the town of State College, PA,
home of WeatherMatrix HQ, on Saturday August 16 just before 5pm. Heavy
rain, high winds and pea to marble sized hail were observed. The radar (see
images below) reported 1" diameter hail just to the west of our location.
Frequent lightning was observed with one strike within 1/4 mile of HQ.
