"ATHENS, Greece - A powerful storm front moved through Greece on Monday,
causing power outages, damaging some highways and flooding parts of
northern lakeside city.
Athens airport officials said six domestic flights were canceled due to bad
weather.
Police said one man was injured when the roof of Athens' main meat market
collapsed. Strong winds also felled trees throughout the Athens region,
blocking roads and highways.
Police said heavy snows caused traffic problems in some parts of the
southern Peloponnese region.
Strong winds in the northern lakeside city of Ioannina, 445 kilometers (278
miles) northwest of Athens, caused 10-meter (33-foot) swells that flooded a
couple of dozen homes. On the island of Crete a highway was closed due to
landslides.
Hurricane-strength winds also swept though some parts of the Aegean Sea,
the meteorological service said. "
